Young adult-ish

Is a 25 years old human can still be considered as a young adult? I googled it, and Wikipedia said that young adult works are targeted for the readers and viewers between 12-18 or 15-20ish. Since I can't accept the fact that I do not belong to this category anymore, I'm gonna use the definition of a young adult from a psychological perspective, i.e. generally a person in the age range of 20 to 39 (or 40). So, yes, 25 is still a young adult. Why we talked about this anyway? Because I just watched a young adult movie, which is one of my favs' movie genres, and it drove me to write a post here. You know, those movies have the power to wake something inside you up. No idea what is it. Now I just want to rant about movies, and life, as usual. FYI, I managed to watch seven movies last week. How come? Because I had nothing to do after I submit the final paper for my tailor made course (finally!). Now I am in the limbo. Should have started with the internship but nope, I need to rearrange the details somehow. Plus, I'm not sure if I am actually ready to face the quasi-real world out there (anyway, lately I'm using this word, quasi, a lot, just because it sounds posh).

Although I opened this post with a justification of me being a young adult, the last two movies I had were so-so. Not bad, but they didn't leave me with such hollowness (?) as the Perks of Being Wallflower, or craziness (?) as Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I watched Paper Towns two days back and Me and Earl and The Dying Girl just now. Paper Towns has interesting characters like Margo and Quentin, their story is appealing, but the execution in the movie was a bit meh. Meanwhile, I think Me and Earl and The Dying Girl was dull, but now (3 hours after finishing the film), I kinda like it. Still, some things are left unclear, and I do feel betrayed by the narrator who spoils the ending. Now, back to the movies-I-wanted-to-talk-about:

Stoker
This movie blesses you with such beautiful cast of the Stoker's family: Mia Wasikowska, Matthew Goode, and Nicole Kidman. In fact, the reason for including the movie on this impromptu review is India Stoker's outfit. Nothing really special but it just appropriate and pretty. Also, Mia looks like f(x) Krystal here, somehow. Although the title is a bit misleading, this movie is by no means involving vampires or dracula, but you can find some creepiness, and 'tensions' build up here and there throughout the movie. I might say the idea is not groundbreaking, nor the plot is perfect (in the end, I still have no clue on what's wrong with India). But the movie is amazing, I told you about the attractive cast, and it's only an addition of their brilliant delivery to depict not-your-usual-family-problem in Stoker. Some people will say the movie is disturbing, well, I suppose it is.

Captain Fantastic
I always wonder what it's like to enjoy living without being judged and shaped by the norms of society. The Cash family might seem as the hippies, the nature hardcore, the detached blip in one's society, while at the same time they are also just a normal family who cope with loss and unfairness of the world. This movie is everything I want to experience in life but too afraid to handle realistically. The culture I was born into will label anybody who lives in the jungle, not having proper formal education, dress 'wildly,' explains rape to 7 years old, etc. as savages. In today's words, this movie is my spirit animal (I am even sure if I use the term correctly, lol). Not to mention, the acting of the cast is superb, the whole Cash family including the aunt uncle cousins and grandparents. Apparently, they bonded so well and shared similar views about the movie so don't be surprised to see their antics during red carpets/award shows/premieres. Power to the people, stick it to the man! Below is one of my favs scene of the movie :)

Lion
This title is the first Oscar contender movies I watched this year, and it deserves the spotlight. I watched the movie in Pathe Buitenhof, which means it used the Dutch subtitles. What I didn't expect was the fact that the first half an hour of it was spoken in Hindi/Bengali languages. Ofc it was no problem because I've been living here for 1,5 years and should know the basic daily conversation Sunny Pawar acting had succeeded to deliver all the emotions. On top of that, all the scenes just disclosed the plot themselves. It blows my mind that this movie is based on a true story. I can't imagine being four years old Saroo who get lost in the fast moving train, going 1400 km away from his hometown. I can't stand looking at the bittersweet relationship amongst Brierley family members. Everybody in my row in the cinema cried frantically in the last 30 minutes, in three different scenes. I guess everybody has their soft spot for family.

Frank
This movie focuses on a weird experimental pop-rock (?) band, and by I meant weird is like that strange/bizarre vibe, not the quirky posh one. At first, I thought Jon is one of those boring guys who ends up getting along with the band members and somehow brings a miracle, as in making the band more well-known to the world. But no, he is not your typical innocent/easily bullied character (even he looked like one at first), and everything went the wrong way towards the end. The characters of this movie surprised me with their development throughout the plot, and the cast portrayed them very well. I watched this one because Domnhall Gleeson plays in it, but I am also mesmerized by Michael Fassbender and Maggie Gyllenhaal. They are so odd, I love it.

While I enjoy this lasting free times  I had in the past week, I do hope to start the internship soon (will never be ready, though). Otherwise, I'll end up watching movies all day long which I can't complain but will regret later. Wish me luck :)

Sweet dream are made of this

Yesterday, I watched four movies in a row as addition of wake up lazily (i.e. very late) in the morning and basically laid all day long on my bed. As usual, I regretted my decision to be such a couch potato on a quite sunny (and supposed to be productive) day thus I went to sleep with a determination to do better. But then.. here I am writing a post about how useless was my life yesterday instead of working on a stack of assignments that waiting for me gracefully. But really - in all of seriousness, these two courses I have for this block are not to be played with. June - particularly after the 2nd week - might be the death of me because there are at least 5 reports, 2 presentations, and 2 exams. Ok, let have anxiety attack again, writing about this. Both of the course are actually very interesting, one is about the legal framework (what, who, and how) that govern one's water resource. Thanks to this course, I figure out that Indonesian Law of UU No. 7/2004 about Water Resource is revoked, in the name of avoiding further privatization of water management. As I dwell more into the case of water allocation in Indonesia, now I realize that my insight about many issues are actually only on par with Jon Snow get the reference? eh-eh-eh? not funny? no? The other course is a bit technical on how you can treat water to get potable grade quality yet there are several points of chemistry are involved which made it more challenging to understand -- as it is my first time to learn (basic) chemistry with English ;) There are a lot of things I can complain about but hey, it never made anything better though. In addition of all those new knowledge I got from the courses, I learned another state-of-the-art perspective last week, about circular economy where you won't talk about cradle to grave cycle of life but it should be from cradle to cradle. Sounds like sustainability? It is!

On another report, last week, Irene, Ahma, and I had the chance to join pm2am trip to Switzerland where we visited Rhine Waterfall (ahey I went to the upstream part of the most talked river on my class), Lucerne, and Zurich. Those places were magical with majestic eternal snow in Alpen range as background and both Lucerne and Zurich lake up front as far as your eyes can observe. The trip was overall worth the price, since I only had to pay 65e for transportation (back and forth), yet the long duration you have to sit in the bus without any plug nor wifi was a bit torturing ahah.

well, Switzerland is beautiful and all but sure I won't make it to live there unless I inherit enough from a Sultan

Back to the movies I watched last Friday; I was actually needed an escape from reality for a moment thus four old school movies (80s-90s) were somehow succeeded to transform the ambiance around. The thing is, I watched those four movies with a very different plot and genre, in a row which of course caused one of the drawback as I couldn't absorb all those meaning and lingering feel after. The first movie is Fast Time in Ridgemont High (1982) with its usual conflict happened in 80s high school: normal girl that never have sex wants a boyfriend-finally have sex but not a proper boyfriend-having fun anyway-get pregnant-realize she did wrong-one decent guy helps her. Young Sean Penn is looked stoned as ever ahah, he is the highlight of the show. Second, I watched Beetlejuice (1988) where you fell in love with Alec Baldwin-Geena Davis-Winona Ryder as the protagonist and loath Michael Keaton as this naughty evil bio-exorcist (guess again? yes, it is human removal service who live in a haunted house). Anyway, I never know that Baldwin was such a gentleman during that days, in addition to his hot glasses nerd character which make it perfect. You're gonna love this if you want to reminisce Tim Burton style of art. Next, Groundhog Day (1993) is (maybe) one of the pioneer movie with its lead character stuck to relive one day over and over again. It may sounds so-so nowadays but it was fresh in 90s plus Bill Murray acting was on point both as a jerk and sincere person. Lastly, I decided to try Being John Malkovich (1999) which is directed by Spike Jonze.. which made me acknowledge of the amount weird/quirky/disturbing ideas here. The title explains everything, so lets just give credits on how genius John Cusack, Cameron Diaz, and Catherine Keener (she's such a babe, bad one) here. As I already stated before, the movie is disturbing (at least for me) but hey, I dont say it was not worth to watch.

The fact that less than 24hrs will be again a monday sure bugs me for the rest of the day. But anyway, Ramadlan is coming next week and I have to fast from 3am to 10pm (fighting!). May we all have the blessing of this holy month and become a better moslem in the process *spread the love in the air*

And I would like to give a shout out to Quicksilver (X-Men version): thanks for your scene in all the latest movie, it gives me life! *eurythmics on repeat

What's the common between water, antonio gaudi, and detectives?

Ola amigos!
Yesterday I stumbled upon a personal blog of Dieni Fitriani (the chronology started from me cleaned up my gmail inbox, includes google+ folder, when it contained some new email about recommendation on 'what you missed from Dieni' thus I lurk into hers and spent almost 2-hours there). Afterward, it feels compulsory to write here (as usual ahah), well, after a period of my academic progress. What have I done so far? The third block of my master program just finished. I just received my final grade on one course titled Quantitative Water Management where I am Alhmadulillah passed with not so bad (but not so good either) grade. Moreover if you compare it to one of my classmate who achieved 9.5/10 for a final grade. Holycow! I have to keep reminding myself that I should be more thankful to at least meet the requirement for this course. My exam grade is free-falling but thank Lord I did okay on assignments, thus I passed! For the other course, Managing Future Delta, there was no exam, but we had to submit a 50-pages group paper and an abstract abstract (literal meaning of abstract, if you dont get it maybe bcs it is more like a inside joke of my class). We havent received any news about grade, but I am quite confident in this as my group consisted of silly but great people and we already spent so much time to work on the paper (long live Sunderbans!!!). On a side note, I actually love this course with broad scope in delta management but somehow focus on many things involved per-lecture. We also had excursions, twice; to southwest delta where krammersluice-brouwerdams-neeltjejans-maasvlakte is located and to zandmotor where the magic happens the Dutch again succeed to implement such out of the the box approach on their ecology friendly water defense. It was nice and all but dont get me to start complaining about how the weather always betray us. Oh the perks of living in the Netherlands.

As in currently, I have again two courses which in more social side (Water Policy, Governance, and Law & Drinking Water and Sanitation). I started this period in a lighthearted mood after 10 days of day offs (that was too much holiday, actually) followed by a symposium about water management in TU Delft. The later one was so interesting eventhough it felt like a very long day full of lectures (there was 6 spokesperson) but I got so many new insights about water related challenges, some subject stroke me the most are the water and sanitation problem in disaster area (by Biserka, MSF consultant), urban design for city protection (by Kees Christiaanse, ps: when we had discussion with him, he thought that garuda plan in Jakarta Bay is a stupid idea), also a lecture about how to resolve water problem in conflicted area (remind me of Banglandesh-India dispute, Mr. Rens de Man). Lisanne and I had a great time there as well as motivational reflection on how to search suitable internship for me (dank je wel, Lisanne!). Anyway for the next part, please envyjoy the sightseeing from Madrid and Spain where I explored only in 4 days (not enouuuuugh!)

Madrid is fine but Barcelona steals our heart, thanks Mr. Gaudi to make this city sooo beautiful

Since I had too many day off recently, I watched all new movies in the cinema, as well as, streaming some old movies online so.. one more rambling for this post, why is action/superhero movies (almost) always let me down recently? London Has Fallen, Huntsman: The Witch's War, Batman vs Superman, Capt. America: Civil War.. all of them failed me (in different aspect). Instead, movies like Zootropolis and The Jungle Book blown my mind (well, this is mainstream opinion). Also, I finished a fairly new k-drama titled 'Signal' where this time I finished it until the last episode, unlike the last time I, and million other people, lost interest in 'Cheese in The Trap'. It is one of the best drama I ever watched! Minimum cheesy romance, superb acting, and brilliant plot, who could say no to an amazing cold case-solving-detective storyline, eh? I really recommend this one :)

It seems I already write above my average word counts here, so.. lets part ways for now. And dont forget to be happy!

Growing up is not the problem

Forgetting is.
Some people might recognize this line along The Little Prince the movie, an animation works released last year based on the same titled novel. Truthfully, I have not read the book yet (I'll add it to my book's bucketlist) but after I watched this adaptation, and of course lurking on all those reviews, it seems that I should read one. Funny how I used to consider myself as book worm when there are just (very) few numbers of books stayed in my memory. The following post still revolves around the same theme of coping with adult life, which still take a form of big question mark that randomly pops during daydream.

This barely new year of 2016 went well so far, at least for my movie quality time. I am now already on 18th in my movie list despite the start of school's third period a week ago. Somehow, the assignments are not killing me yet. The Little Prince is the latest movie I just watched today. As someone who didn't read the book, I enjoyed this animation that full of deep symbolism regarding one journey's to grow up. Well maybe not exactly defining the process you went through from child, teenager, then adult era; Nevertheless, toward the end of the movie, many elements of this movie just hit me hard within the reality realm, i.e. the restless and unprepared feeling to face adult-real-world. I know people get bored when I told them about this dubious theme of so called real world but today, at least, I got new input regarding this matter. One from this movie and other from my fully respected friend, Muharrom.
(spoiler alert). At a brief moment after finishing the movie, people might be reminded of how tough adult life can be, as people get this idea from the movie that adult is created (or shaped) in a certain way which made them forget everything precious from childhood memories. Not to mention The Mother character who seemed a bit pushover with her perfect planning. I also agree with this opinion, because myself indeed having hard time accepting grown up's life path. But then I texted Muha, it was not 100% random because yesterday we dwelt upon our college life whatsoever (maybe because we were both feel so old and tired and sudden reminiscence afloat). I always believe him to give me advice, read: serious advice for life, hence I told that I just saw The Little Prince. Of course he had watched it and of course he had different idea on perceiving the movie. Instead, he adores The Little Girl and The Mother during their perfect and tight scheduled days.
Cool, mature, independent, problem solver, neat, never give up.. everything great about that little girl but those all ruined when she meets the neighbor grandpa, I was sad
Creativity, dream, hobby, curiosity.. can stay as the child fragments of you but be like an adult when you have to be autonomous, rational, responsible..
I really don't know if I translate this in a right way, sorry Muha! Unsurprisingly, it is on our nature to continue a movie talk to a 'future' kind of conversation. Both of us (or maybe just me, actually) are go-with-the-flow-people which he said it made us slower than others to embrace the life learning. He then managed to continuously stabbed me with his thoughts (in a good way), like why can't I state a concrete purpose for my future; or successfully made me aware of an urgent need for a mentor I never have. Always a mind and heart opener, talking with him hahaha *empty laugh.
In the end, we came to the conclusion that I am indeed an effortlessly happy person who life her days without expectation, target, and evaluation *again empty laugh. Believe me, I am working on this attitude though. Well again, let us all pray to be useful creatures in our own way. I hate to always close a post with such cliche but what can I do, I have a cliche life ;)

Warm hug (still in this cold windy weather),
Noya

P.S. I should really searching for a mentor

Personal rant and brit pack fever

Uh so, its almost end of July already, it seems I neglect this platform for a month. Not that I have a tight schedule but I just went through something that need effort and patience lately (yet there I am still waiting for the so called decision). My quota for internet connection somehow reach the limit while I was on Bogor; I am homey since a week ago but these laziness struck me as always. Some this and that happenned these few weeks, including my brother visit to Bogor.
Seaworld was somehow his dream place to visit since childhood yet I just able to bring him there last week lol sorry bro
Oh and on other note this little brother got accepted at Landscape Architecture on IPB (yay congrats). Idk maybe his visit there was some kind of auspices (what). He was on Bogor for three days only and went straight home alone on afternoon of World Cup final match. UH AND TALK ABOUT WORLD CUP.. HAHA FINALLY GERMANYYYY WOOHOO; I recall that all mess full of crying phone conversation between me and Putri after Germany lost to Italy on semifinal back on 2006. Man look at them now after all those struggle since I was an elementary school student, Germany has the best steady team player. Can not forget Klinsmann and Low for that :') Ah sorry for too much feeling.
My days at home not really worh telling (as usual yes) but then I can tell you that last week was my attempt to watch old school movies:
Back to The Future 3 (1990)
Leon: The Professional (1994)
Sid & Nancy (1986)
The Breakfast Club (1985)
Pulp Fiction (1994)
Blade (1998)
Well, now for short reviews: First installment of back to the future will be my forever favorite, the 2nd and 3rd one were not bad just didn't live up the hype like the first one. Maybe because I root for Crispin Glover as young George Mcfly. Natalie Portman debut in Leon was just wow, how old was she again? 11-12 y.o I guess but her acting was awesome, she just depicted everything about Mathilda in perfect way. Besides, evil Gary Oldman can not be better looking than that (like some days before I went for 'dawn of planet of the apes' with my mate and we thought gary oldman cant get any older than Lt Gordon on batman sequel, he somehow always look like that for a long time; indeed his name 'old-man'). And I was wrong though, when I finally downloaded Sid and Nancy I just keep smiling at how Mr Oldman potrayed such young punk rebellious Sid Vicious. Sad movie it was. The Breakfast Club is one of the best young adult or coming of age movie I ever came across. I mean the plot actually quite simple about how five highschoolers with very different character/background also who don't know each other spent a day together for detention hours but ends up pouting their heart out during the process. Maybe it is cliche but five main stars of the movies did it so well it hurts (my dramaqueen alter ego creeping back). And props for the cast when I found out the most touching scenes during the movie actually shots without a script and they just improvised all. Pulp Fiction was on another level though, I finally had a chance to watch this biopic lol and it was indeed superb. Idk which one is more interesting between all those seemingly 3-4 different untangling stories can be mashed together. Vincent Vega is an unlucky dork, mark these words, every single time he goes to the bathroom, bad things will happen. Oh young Tim Roth also act here, for suspense and thrilled opening and closing scenes (daww he just so clueless in some actions). In other hand, Blade just uh what so-so I guess? Maybe it somehow big for movie with that genre on that era but nevertheless it was just quite nice action vampire movie there (or maybe I need to dig some info around more).
these fine gentlemen on their fine days
I have planned to download some other movies whom brit pack starring but maybe after the Ied Fitr. Yes the holy day is coming and I'd better prepare myself more so I won't regret anything for wasting more time on this Ramadlan. Early sayings won't hurt don't you think, Taqaballahu minna wa minkum lets forgive and forgave things which burden our heart in past days :)

A day before Ramadlan the first

WELCOME TO THE HOLY RAMADLAN MONTH OF 1435 H

Entering the first week of Ramadlan, this time I got a full impression and vibe of this holy and sacred month; mostly bcs of our downtown located rented house. But if anything, I really got a sweet sour opening entrance for this year Ramadlan for yesterday was a long long journey that somehow possible to occur less than 24 hours. The journey in order went like these: first time job interview experience - first time get shout and harassed by angkot driver - first time get the sensation of Bogor traffic on saturday afternoon which coincidentally also a night before Ramadlan the 1st - finally: TFIOS movie with uri luksi - first time 1435 H tarawih on society mosque. Mixed feeling don't you think? I should be feeling physically exhausted by departing from Bogor at 6.09 AM to Jakarta and already driving beloved Skylar (or Sky for short, a Black Honda Vario) which stuck in Bogorian traffic jam at 02.00 PM and again face the rage of people at way back home at 6.00 PM. But then I didn't feel a thing maybe bcs my mental also get that same treatment from the start. The job interview with as an R&D staff was not too good, well you can label me as over value myself but really the company contract just didn't suit me at all (which is saddening, I already feel that job was my kind of interest). Being shouted by angkot driver also colored my day with following chronology:
Me (M) : (get down from angkot and paid Rp 9000,- for 3 people and directly walk away)
Angkot Driver (AD) : ...
M   : (keep walking and suddenly)
AD : WOY MONYET SIALAN LO BAYAR KURANG [HEY YOU DAMN PUNK ASS THIS IS NOT ENOUGH]
M   : hah?
AD : lo bertiga seorang goceng, limabelas ribu harusnya woy [three of you make it Rp 15.000,-]
M   : lah kita naik dari ruko ancol pak, kan emang tig.. [we get in from ruko ancol Sir, it should be thre...]
AD : bang*** (and carelessly drive away) [son of bi***]
God bless he just drove away so the drama is over. Not many people care though, it is indeed their daily events there; but for me it is like one climax of the day lol. The benefit from yesterday's Jakarta experience is.. I got a new acquaintance who told me a lot of her story and passion and uhm life-lesson as a same almamater graduate. But whatever, the highlight of my day is ansel elgort the fault in our stars! After passed through a lot (like A LOT, everyone in Bogor seem available in the road that afternoon) of traffic jam, Luksi and I finally managed to watch it. And man, even though I have not read the book (Luksi had), the movie simply charmed with that kind of vibe the perks of being wallflower give me. Have not read John Green writing, uh and avoid spoiler from Luksi, Chita, and Patia, became an advantage as I absorb into the movie very much and surprised at some point. Even that cumber-ukhti above agreed that this adaptation movie quite living their expectation. Not to mention Ansel and Shai were great there, oh and Nat too (wait him as main actor of another John Green novel, Paper Town). I am waiting Chita to lend me the original version of the book bcs Luksi said that translated one is weird hahah. [SPOILER] One of my favorite scene on the movie where I can relate so much with my other life changing movie is when Hazel kind of feeling angry to Gus and eventually said this quote, "You say you're not specual because the world doesn't know about you, but that's an insult to me. I know you," Oh Gus I can feel you very much with our dream to do something to the world and to be remembered by many people. In the end, what we have done maybe didn't fated to be remembered by many lives but still there must be someone or even more who feeling grateful by your existence. I know you people must be bored by this Gandhi X Remember Me quote but guess whaaaat it is indeed my life inspiration line: Our fingerprints don't fade from the lives we've touched. I don't have to mention that I cried a bit here and there between scenes right? Yeah no need to. The ending of my day was closed by nice little discovery of a nearby mosque where I pray tarawih there. Ramadlan indeed a special month and the good thing is.. its just started.
So keep on living guys!

Are you more like Lauda or Hunt?

Hola wednesday!
This is the 3rd consecutive days of me being lazy ass and wake up above 9.00 am; its really something right? I am usually not this lazy though but since get back to Bogor after spent four days at home just make me 'meh' and doing nothing really useful. But anyway thats not the main point I want to share. The day before yesterday, I finally manage to watch Rush (2013), yes it is a last year movie and one of the reasons which made me eager to watch is the fact that Daniel Bruhl is starring in that one. In addition, some of my friends who able to watch the movie in cinema last year told me that it is indeed surprisingly a good movie so ofcourse I wont pass the chance to not see it.
above: Niki Lauda - Daniel Bruhl as Niki, below: Chris Hemsworth as James - James Hunt

Rush is made based on true story about rivalry between F1 driver back in 1970s: Niki Lauda (Daniel Bruhl) and James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth). If you have not known the story yet, I will not spoil anything here (well no promise haha) but the thing that attract me the most is Niki Lauda's ambition. He is someone who come from economist family who give no support at all for Niki's interest in being racing driver. Realizing the consequences, he takes a loan from a bank to buy his own way into a team and thanks to his smart ass brain and hardwork attitude he ended up in Ferrari racing team despite of the rookie status. Compared to James Hunt's life, Niki's is far from fun, it can be seen from his personality and (in the movie) he admit enjoys being that kind of serious and strict person in order to achieve his goal. Throughout the movie, we learn many things from both the character, but I personally adore Niki Lauda so much with all his ambition, focus, and everything; those remind me how such a peaceful person I am. Like some months ago, I took this survey (or test whatever) on www.talentoday.com and it turned out that I have this very low mental of ambition, competitive spirit, and self confidence. In contrary, I have this high points on stress management, taking responbility, and opening up to others.  At a glance it seems that I look like a saint or something with no life friction and always give cares to other lol. I can just shrug that result off but in someway it bugs me, well I mean 'is it really I have no ambition?' Realization came later, after living this 22 years of life I never indeed want something that bad (beside watching P!ATD concert years ago). I also never involve in any competitiveness feeling, I mean yes maybe life itself give us competition under our conscious but I dont really have a spot for feeling 'I should get that' kind of things. A friend once told me that she sometimes cant understand why me, given such gift in academic area, never pushed my self into a paper competition or scholarship selection,' and tbh its not my first time get that kind of comments. I admit now I feel like regretting my past by wasting my young years (london grammar alert eh) but in other way I think its not that regretful bcs I basically spent my years well surrounded by person I love. Maybe I just being James Hunt instead of Niki Lauda. And now with this upcoming pressuring years ahead, it feel like I need to be more like Niki hahaha, I mean with all the goals and aims I have to get. I cant be always that easy peasy girl with smile in her face right (?) And no, its not that I will change my entire personality but strict-en up a bit wont hurt. Pray for me pals and I hope you can always be a better person also! Lastly, let me share this quote from Rush that stucked in mind:
Mr. Lauda, may I offer a piece of advice? Stop thinking of it as a curse to have been given an enemy in life. It can be a blessing, too. A wise man gets more from his enemies than a fool from his friends.

XOXO.

Review spreee

Wazzap.
Gladly inform you that I am writing this post while lying in front of tv room in my house. Marvelous marvelous. Just some hours ago I came back from Rajawali Cinema; the only one movie theater in the town (which on its very roll since last year) and somehow I just want to write things here again. Recalling that my last time sharing such movie/music reviews are years ago.
Movies
Well these are last 10 movies I saw recently (latest one first and going older in order):
Edge of Tomorrow
Maleficent
X-Men: Days of Future Past
Briefgeheim
Godzilla
Borrower Arriety
The Amytiville Horror
The Spectacular Now
The Blind Side
Miracle in Cell No. 7
Wow just realized that I watched those 5 first movies in a movie theater (except that briefgeheim, on dutch embassy hahaha). I wont be able to tell y'all my thoughts about those 10 titles up there, this post will be a VERY long one and I swear you couldnt bear me. There are a lot of good reviews out there in other blog or website so I am just gonna babbling about how: 1.) Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise are so awesomely charming in Edge of Tomorrow. Cruise just like aging backwards since last time I saw him in Knight and Day (I wont count Oblivion bcs it somehow disappoint me) and Blunt is whoaaa, werk it gurl, she is in a very nice shape and very different from last role on Looper which ruin her image in my eyes, uhm, I cant forget that one particular scene where she 'call for help' by pushing that frog toy; 2.) Have not find who Sam Riley (Deaval) could resemblance on Maleficent. I was confused by the actor play Stefan character which really remind me of someone (I was thinking he really looked like Tennant pfft) but it turned out he is Shartlo Copley, crazy badass mechanic on all time fav The A-Team movie; 3.) Anyone have other X-Men installation movie, I need to recall so many things; 4.) I never thought this Godzilla could bring my tears out, well it maybe bcs a lot of burden and occasions happened that day, but hell yeah Godzilla is the hero! If only they change the alien shape/form, those couple of breeding alien just strange, even for me who said to be an alien-lover by a lot of people; 5.) Spectacular Now maybe just another coming of age movie but Sutter-Aimee story is not so usual with Miles and Shailene being utterly good delivered their acting. No wonder Shai cant bring herself at fighting scene between Tris and Peter on Divergent. On other side, Shai will meet her 'brother' Ansel on TFIOS ohyeah!

Music
Well this is not really thoughts about a song/an album, I will talk about this 'game' I have with Chita-Vatya-Luksi. On every week we post 3-5 songs on our dropbox folder based on a theme that been decided. We only played this routine for 2 weeks and so far so good hahaha (the list of songs can be seen on the side). I really love the fact that Chita post Lie to Me soundtrack there (how I miss dr.Cal Lightman and his sass-jerky attitude). Oh and anyway, I lately overdosed by EXO-M newest album. Ever since the issue about Kris broke out, it drive me to listen more to EXO-M songs instead. Overdose album only contain five songs but three of them always been on repeat on my phone music player: Overdose, Thunder, and Love Love Love.

Thats quite a rumble for what I watch and listen lately. How about my days? Well, still the same, you won't find it interesting anyway. Still unemployed (sorry but I just need to remind myself everytime I write here *sigh), sobbing over The Red Viper ending, and trying to livin' the life as always!

XOXO

Ghibli's H&M

Hayao Miyazaki.
Studio Ghibli.
Those two names make a magical effect, very imaginative yet such touching animation. Hayao Miyazaki (b.1941) is a film director, animator, manga artist, producer, and screenwriter with career that already spanned over five decade. With his recent claimed to retire from the business, I suddenly want to rewatch all his and/or studio ghibli movies again but poor me, I only had chances to watch these four from them all: Spirited Away - Howl Moving Castle - My Neighbor Totoro - Princess Mononoke.
I am a pretty scaredy cat person who didnt really enjoy any presence of spirit/devil/ghost in a movie (yet I still manage myself to watch the exorcist), yet all movies above has this point where the main character somehow clash their daily life into world full of spirit, either good and devilish one. In Spirited Away, Chiaki which seen so little and fragile find herself in a place where regularly visited by a bunch of spirits. This No-Face spirit especially freaked me out only with his appearance and his eh-eh-eh voice. Howl is one of those good looking wizard in Howl Moving Castle which attract many of creatures (including this Witch of The Waste and me, too). My Neighbor Totoro was a very simple movie if you only ever read crappy synopsis (like the one I always write) about how children named Satsuki and Mei overcome their daily life and be-friend with this magical creature of the forest-next-door, Totoro. He (ok I am not sure, but I can just address Totoro as he) is a very fluffy creature who fond of sleep and I just want him no matter what, uhm. The most recent one I watched was Princess Mononoke where I feel dragged also onto heart of the forest with those charming tiny forest spirits called kodama.

I am sure to always remember you, No-Face

Sophie and Howl, after all the ruckuss

How can I ignore to sleep in his belly eh?

Kodama attaaaaaaaaack

Rumor said Miyazaki will no longer produce movies like he used to be but Studio Ghibli will still stand there, artworking great animation like before, or even better. I love how they actually slaps the viewer with the critics and life education derive from its movie plot without losing any grace. Hopefully can catch The Wind Rises this year :)

Always with love,
Icha

Dirty Jobs, Fresh Name

Lately I watched this 2008 movie titled "Sunshine Cleaning". It starring by Amy Adams and Emily Blunt. Actually at first I dont really feel interested in this movie but somehow Emily Blunt success to engrossed me, as always :]
It tells us about how Rose (Adams) try to handle her family consist of her unreliable sister, Norah (Blunt), his little son with a lot of imagination, and a father (Alan Arkin) which often made promises to her son although he cant always made.
Rose was ever a high school flower, lead dancer but then she just works as a maid. With her needs to fulfill she eventually jumps into a 'dirty' business involving her sister. This job called biohazard removal or crime scene clean up. They take over anything left from a crime occasion like murderer, street accident, or so.. Everything went okay until Norah did something.
What best about this movie is how a person, even like the underestimated one like Norah can became so care yet curious about life. And how their job brings them new experiences in facing death. How people struggle to survive when the one they love left them.
This movie just simple, easy to follow, and in some point of view has a happy ending. And Emily Blunt as always is adorable. Honestly I dont really know since when I trapped in her charisma (err, not charisma actually I just love seeing her in my TV or laptop screen haha). Yah like I said before this movie is really worth to watch (or maybe I havent said it before).

Migrain and Movies

The A-Team
Wanted
27 Dresses
The Parent Trap
Padahal kemaren gue ga tidur siang dan jam tujuh aja udah nguap-nguap ngantuk tapi entah deh lewat jam 10 malem malah ga ngantuk sama sekali.
Gue ga akan nge-review itu film-film tadi gimana isinya, everybody know Hannibal Smith and The Fraternity, rite? Gue suka film drama macem Weather Man, Reign Over Me, Defintely Maybe; film keluarga kayak Parent Trap di atas atau Aliens in the Attic; film sci-fi, well I tell you The Day After Tomorrow play a big role in my life! Haha; film action kayak The Italian Job atau Ocean Twelve; I even enjoy musical movies.
Jadi sebenernya gue yang range seleranya luas atau emang I have no taste in movies? Gue juga ga ngerti sih tapi ya gue bersyukur aja karena selera gue yang begini jadi gue jarang kecewa gara-gara ngeluarin duit buat nonton di XXI, eh anyway gue pernah deng kecewa banget waktu kemaren nonton Skyline di bioskop Rajawali. Udah filmnya kata gue ancur banget, bioskopnya abal pula. Lengkap sudah 11ribu gue melayang tanpa arti.
Liburan masih berapa hari yah? Gue masih ada ehm paling ga sepuluh kaset dvd lagi buat ditonton :]

Grease... is the word!

So now I’m gonna post some movies I’ve been watching start this 2011 year.
Since I lost my binder who keep all the track of movies I’ve watched on 2010 maybe blogging could be my back up :D
And.. until now, February the 3rd, I’ve watched about 14 movies. Well not a big number considered at the same month last year it was about 30 or so, but well we’ll discuss it later.
Now I’m gonna share about this comedy musical movie, GREASE.

*his eyes, hipnotize me, hahah*

This movie is hilarious!
I love every dancing scene, evenmore Travolta and Newton-John really looks click at each other :) Maybe the story was so common: summer high school love, but I enjoy it.
Everything seemed so 70’s ofcourse, this is 1971’s movie. Looking all the boys and girls in that outfit is undescribeable! Make me want to ride the time travel machine and life there. The gangs thingy, wearing the same jacket. Those outfit and hair style, argh, nobody seems ugly here okay I am a moron, ofcourse everybody looks great this is a movie, not reality hah! Plus, the songs! You are gonna love it: Summer Love, Grease Lightnin', You Are The One That I Want.
Argh, I love this kind of movie. Move out High School Musical, this is the older and way better version of you <3 br="">
Love, Icha

bollywood time (Y)

halloooo...
mau ngepost postingan yang tertunda nih, hehe. sebenernya sih mau kemaren ngepost, eh ketiduran ya udah.
topik kita kali ini adalahhhhhhhhh... BOLLYWOOD

masa kemaren anak2 pada ngobrol tentang india coba?
iya, film india yang ituuu
ceritanya, si monik lagi curhat, dia kemaren malem tuh disuruh-eh salah diminta tolongin- sama teman kami yang nyentrik, didik, buat donlot mp3 lagu india gitu, didik minta lagu dari film mohabbatein… katanya dia setelah di-search ama monik kira2 ada 95 lagu yang ada hubungannya ama mohabbatein. widih ajigile, dia kan males noh ngecek dan ngeliatin satu2, yah asal aja dia donlot, eh tapi ternyata yang sukses cuma satu. katanya internet connectionnya lagi lemot banget, haha. nah waktu kita (maksutnya saya sama monik) lagi ngobrolin hal itu anak2 pada nyambung aja ikutan ngobrol...
toyl : heh, kok pada ngomongin india?
icha : hehe, kagaaa
iyes : aku si udah liat beberapa kali tapi ga mudeng endingnya gimana, si sarungan tuh akhirnya gimana sih?
tyas : sarungan?
Iyes : shah rukh khan atau apalah ituu
Toyl : tanya icha tuh dia apal di luar kepala sama plot ceritanya

Icha : idih kagaa
monik : lah aku mah ga tau sama sekali india. taunya cuma kuch kuch hota hai

monik : iya itu! terus satunya rani mukhrejee (ga tau deh tulisannya bener kaga) apa ya judulnya?

toyl : laaah apa ya lupa, tapi iya ada kok
icha : tanya vyna coba, dia kan expert (piss vyn)

icha : ih itu bagus tau! ada militerannya! keren lah! yakin
vyna : iya tau il.. bagus! ceritanya tuh yaa.. (bla3)

(sebenarnya percakapan masih berlangsung cukup lama-yeah,masih membahas seputar film india-tapi lama2 geje.. haha)

ngomong2 soal indiaaa, dari dulu aku agak penasaran sama film india. kok selalu musical sekali ya? bukan bukan musical yang mendayu-dayu dan ngantukin, tapi penuh dengan nyanyian dan tarian (yang identik dengan muter-muter di tiang bangunan hahahaha). atau mungkin itu udah culture sana yah? jadi inget dulu aku demen banget liatin film india, ga tau deh, jaman when i was innocent and silly, haha.
film india paling oke, haha

aku masih inget beberapa judul fim india nih, coba bentar:

kuch kuch hota hai *ga mungkin lupa, haha
kabhi kushi kabhi gham

kaho naa pyaar hai
mujshe dosti karoge

bend it like beckham *itu film india kaan, walaupun ada keira knightleynya
bride and prejudice “itu juga film india
ahh lupa! padahal perasaan aku sering banget liat film india hahahahha.mungkin ada yang bisa bantuin menambah list di atas?

hehehe
kesimpulan akhir dari postingan ini.. apaan ya? ehm, begini aja ~ternyata aku pernah juga melewati fase-fase menyukai film india. yahaha.help.

udah ah, pusing juga ngomongin india mulu, haha
